This concept, ICT training for the students with visual impairment is very important on the ground that use of computer with screen reader software is one of the main sources for visually impaired persons to access information world-wide. It is because visually impaired people only depend on sound and touch to access any piece of information and most of the works on computer can easily be done by visually impaired persons with the help of especial software (screen reader) which will read out whatever appears on the monitor.
This project consists of the following;
• To introduce different parts and devices of computer to the students
• Instruction in the use of deferent screen readers such as NVDA and Jaws.
• The proper use of the Key board through touch typing.
• Training in the use of different computer applications such as, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet browsers and email etc.
• Information on the windows operating system and its utilities.
• A basic knowledge on computer concepts.
• To develop their confidents in ICT and the use of computer for their studies.
