Workshop on Assistive Technology Training

Assistive technology means any item, piece of equipment, or product system, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of peoples with a disability.
Our Assistive Technology workshops will provide you with the essential theoretical and practical knowledge on the operation and maintenance of assistive devices and systems.

Our training includes;

• Introducing, operating and maintaining the Braille Typewriter.
• Introducing and training on the use of the DAISY player (Audio book reader).
• Introducing and training on the use of Digital Video magnifier.
• Introducing and training on the use of Refreshable Braille Display.
• Introduction and training on the use of Screen reader software (JAWS & NVDA).
• Introduction and training on the use of Braille Translating software.
• Introducing various types of Braille Embossers.
